Jules Clarétie (1840-1913), man of letters and administrator of the Comédie-Française (1885-1913). 57 autograph letters and notes signed , [Paris], Viroflay and London, 1889-1905, to Edouard Noël (1848-1926), man of letters, correspondent of the newspaper Le Gaulois and reader-examiner at the Comédie-Française from 1898.

Precious correspondence addressed by Jules Clarétie to his friend Edouard Noël in which the administrator of the Comédie-Française evokes his functions, the functioning of the house of Molière and the defense of the interests of the members, programming and plays to play, others rejected, sometimes difficult relationships with members, the March fire 1900 and its aftermath, an annual activity report (programming and financial), a tour in England, press relations, the beginnings of the Dreyfus affair, etc.
